DIY Kiwi Lane storage

I’ve tried many different ways to tame my Kiwi Lane templates, so today I decided I would try to use my We R Memory Keepers Fuse tool to create pockets in a scrapbook sleeve so I can store all my templates in a binder. I know I’ve seen places online that sell sleeves already made up just for this but I’ve had this tool for a while and hardly ever use it!  So this is what I did:

•Gather your Fuse tool, find a safe working surface, ruler (or workspace with grid lines), Kiwi Lane templates and empty plastic sleeves

•Heat Fuse tool for 15 mins
•Measure how much space you need for the templates to fit
•Fuse straight verticals line

I need a lot more practice with this tool! I have to be honest, I had to go over spots multiple times to get them to properly fuse and it doesn’t look pretty but it works, and I’m excited to try this new storage solution!

So let me know what you think! Next up I’ll be working on creating pockets for all the shapes 😬

Harry Potter tiered tray

I’ve neglected this blog for years but started working with vinyl and dabbling with home decor so I thought I’d share some of my super simple projects!

I’m very into tiered trays and love anything Harry Potter so I wanted to make a winter Harry Potter tiered tray since I’m not big into “Christmas decor.” When I looked online for inspo I found very little so I’m making this one up as I go along. What do you think?

Not only could I not find much inspiration, I also couldn’t find anything small that I could buy that would fit, so most of this is diy. I had a pumpkin spice candle that I turned around and added Lumos with black vinyl, the snow is made of cotton balls, I made the Deathly Hallows sign with vinyl and a small canvas and lastly, I sewed a quick little hat for my gnome (another project I’ve started doing regularly). Let me know if you have any cute decor I could add in the future or any websites you know of that sell tiered tray decor!

Disney vacation

Hey all! I know I've been away for a while, last year was super busy, but I'm trying to get back into crafting. My family and I are planning to go to Disney in 2 or 3 years so we've started saving money. I thought to make it more fun if I could make a container for each of us to call our own, something we could put our extra money in to put toward the trip! So I got out the new Disney Classics Cricut cartridge I got for my birthday and got to work. It took way longer than I care to admit and they aren't perfect but I think they turned out super cute!

Here's all four:

This one is mine, Tinkerbell:

Here is my husband's, Peter Pan:

And my step-sons', Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket:

Hopefully they can inspire us to save and go on our dream vacation!

Masculine birthday

I seem to always have trouble making cards for the men in my life...I think this is a common issue. So I did a quick search and came across this 'less is more' card that I knew my dads would appreciate. So here's the inspiration.

And here's my card!

Have a great day :)    xoxo, Lux

New artist alert

I haven't been on here in a loooong time because I got caught up in getting married last year!!!! But now I'm back, in a new scrapbooking space and feeling newly inspired.

So last weekend I went to the Memories Expo convention and fell in love with all things Bret Weldele. He has a new stamp line out with Stampers Anonymous and I wanted them all! But I restrained myself and just bought one stamp set called Dandy Robot. Here's a quick little tag I whipped up using the set. I love it. Makes me wanna make a bunch of masculine cards for my new husband!

Are there any new artists your obsessed with???

A Happy 30th birthday to my sister!

Just realized I never posted this. Was waiting until I gave her the card and then totally forgot! So here it is, my post from March 8th.

I stumbled across this cute and simple card that I decided to recreate for my little sister, Meaghan, for her big 3-0! It's from the blog And So I Don't Forget.... She admits it's a straight scraplift from Robin Werlich but I gotta be honest, I'm not sure I would have looked at her card and thought to change it into this cute 30th birthday card. So kudos! Here it is and scraplift away! Just make sure you always give credit to the original creator ;)

Valentine craft for boys

The boys love making crafts, if I don't have a craft planned for them every time they're here it gets ugly. But it's great because not only do I get to spend some one on one time with them, I also get to share something I love! So when I was searching for craft ideas for boys a few months ago I ran across All For The Boys, a really great blog with tons of boy related crafts. And the day I was searching for a valentine craft, she had just posted this adorable love bug!

The best part is, it's interactive. Most crafts we do just kind of sit around once they're done making it. The fun is had during the making but then what? This "bug" can be hung on door knobs and bed posts so it can climb up and down!

If you have young kids, especially boys, check her blog out! And feel free to leave me a note with any other cute boyish craft ideas or blogs you run across!
