Enjoy the journey

I just whipped up a birthday card that I'm super proud of & excited to share with you. Sorry if you're getting sick of it but I just canNOT get enough of Tim Holtz! (Tim, if you're out there...call me!) Anyway, here it is...

I started with a basic blue card and standard manilla shipping tag. I heat embossed the circle design from Tim Holtz with clear embossing powder on the tag and then used 3 distress inks (Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord and Fired Brick) for the background color using his water spritzing technique. Then I added 2 "screw" brads to the bottom. I distressed the card itself with Walnut Stain and Weathered Wood using his sponge applicators. Then I stamped "Enjoy the Journey" from Tim Holtz on the bottom left of the card and on a separate piece of manilla paper, I stamped a TH truck in Walnut Stain and covered it in gold and bronze Perfect Pearls.

Here's a close up of the truck, it's adhered with foam for dimension
And here's a close up of the awesome texture you get from the clear embossing powder

Thanks for stopping by! xoxo

Such an honor

I've been cropping with the same group of ladies on and off for about a year. This past weekend during my 12 hour crop at Mojo I made those 2 "Follow Your Heart" tags and one other that I haven't taken a picture of yet. Anyway, the woman that was running this crop has always been a fan of my Tim Holtz inspired tags and asked me to do a technique class at her next crop!!! I'm so honored, excited and nervous but I think it could be so much fun! The women I crop with are my mother's age and really aren't into or exposed to Tim's edgy distressed look so I'm super happy to introduce them to it and maybe get some new TH converts. So stay tuned and I'll let you know where you can see me and my favorite techniques! Could be a couple months but I hope to see you out there!

12 hour crop

I had a 12 hour crop today and you'd think I would get a lot done but it's always the opposite. I'm usually too busy socializing to do much so here are just 3 things I did. My usual Tim Holtz inspired tags and a card that I love love love!!!

Same tag in two different colors. Tim Holtz distress ink and stamps; Daniel Torrente stamp
