Sweetest Day

Today is Sweetest Day. Now, normally I don't celebrate or really acknowledge this holiday, but this morning I was curious as to why we have a Sweetest Day when we already have a Valentine's Day. So I did what everyone does when they need to know something, I looked it up on Wikipedia. After reading about it, I kind of have a little bit of a new found respect for this "holiday" and was even inspired to make a card for my boyfriend (even though we talked about how we don't believe in celebrating this holiday).

It was a super simple card to make, nothing crazy but I thought it turned out super cute and I think he liked it, so that's all that matters. Here it is:

A little Distress Ink treatment to a boring, white envelope

I used the adorable Hello Ian stamp from The Greeting Farm & colored him with
Copic Markers, then used a stencil for the background and some Stickles on the dots

Dimensional foam

Then finished off the inside with a simple sentiment using a label maker

Hope you like it and thanks for reading!

Who says crafting isn't a contact sport?!

On September 25th I taught my first Tim Holtz inspired class and let me just say, it's hard work! I prepped for what seemed like forever and it almost didn't even happen. As I was taking my supplies into the crop, I stabbed myself...yes, myself with my own exacto knife! At first I just saw a tear in my jeans, didn't think anything of it and then it started to bleed...and wouldn't stop. If you're squeemish, don't look at the next few pics.

Everyone thought I should go to the ER but I wasn't going to let a little stabbing get me down. So my mom scrubbed the blood out of my jeans, my boyfriend patched me up and even brought me a pair of his jeans to wear (isn't he sweet?). I was gonna teach that class!

Here's some pics of me teaching.

This is what it looked like a week later, and now it's even better!
