I finally had a chance to create a layout for one of my most favorite pictures. Not because we look amazing (even though we always do)but because it captured a really special night. This layout features a picture of my boyfriend and I on the first night we hung out in over 10 years. We had such a blast and have basically be inseperable since that night!
I made this layout following a sketch I found on scrapbooks etc. As usual I had to improvise because I didn't have everything exactly how they showed it but I think it came out pretty cute and was pretty quick to come together.
Here's the sketch:
And here's my layout:
Hope you like it!

I just created and ordered a shirt from Customized Girl for a National Scrapbooking crop. I'm suuuper excited about it! But the thing is, I waited way too long to order and I doubt I'll get it by next Saturday but oh well. I just hope it's as cute as the picture!!!

Easter cards 2011
As I mentioned earlier, I made 2 Easter cards this year using SCAL. First is this easy card I made for the kids. This one I made with a free image from svgcuts.com.
I ran the pale green cardstock through my Cuttlebug, adhered the bee with dimensional foam and printed the sentiment on cardstock, then also adhered it with dimensional foam. The sentiment on the inside was also made using Word and then I just dressed it up a little with some butterflies from my favorite Stampin' Up die cut folder.
Here's the card I made for the adults. It was a little bit more labor intensive, lots of little pieces to cut out and put together but I thought the birds was so unbelieveably adorable. Seriously, those glasses?! Too cute!
The background of the card was made using my favorite Tim Holtz ink blending technique. The bird, flower and leaf were all cut using SCAL, these patterns can also be found at svgcuts.com but must be purchased. It's the Spring Birdhouses set. The photo corner was found free online and also cut with SCAL. Then the purple label was made using the large labels nestabilities and a Cuttlebug, with a stamped on sentiment.
This is a stamp I think I got in the dollar bin at Archivers last year.
Overall, pretty easy to make once I found all the patterns and papers I needed. Hope you like them!
p.s. I had 2 of these cards left over, if you see me at a crop I can sell one or both of them to you for a very reasonable price :)

SCAL in the springtime!
I recently started working with the Sure-Cuts-A-Lot (SCAL) program and absolutely LOVE it! I'd known about it for a while but was always kind of intimidated by all the blogs I read, it seemed like you really had to be computer savvy to use it! But so far I've found there are a lot of really easy things I can make. I've had some trouble with fonts not cutting right but everything else is great! I especially like that I can cut more on my tiny 12x6 mat because the program has a built in "creative studio." I also love that there are many sites that offer really great, free, svg files! I found this really cute bee from SVGCuts.com that I'm using to make my kid friendly Easter cards. The site says he's actually an egg dressed up as a bee and none of the kids will know that but none the less, it's springy and adorable!
Pictures to follow soon!

Cupcake birthday card
Here's a cute birthday card I made for my sister using my Cricut and a Stamping Bella stamp colored with Copic Markers. Super simple and easy to put together!
I cut the lettering and border on the cricut, stamped and colored the stamp, then cut it out
Here's a close up of the colored stamp, I also put a little bit of red Stickles on the cherry
And of course, foam adhesive for dimension & a sentiment stamped inside
Hope you like it!
